Labor Day 2015.
Early morning family hike in the woods of southern Illinois. Summer was not done with us yet, steaming up camera lenses and creating a breathy, mysterious air in the streambeds.
Most monochrome mondays I simply shoot in black and white, which changes so many things about I intend to capture, but today I shot in color and wasn’t sure what monochrome would bring out. When I transform a photo from color to black and white, usually it is to isolate a contrast, or highlight an emotion or even texture.
To me, each photo evokes place, but different places.
What are some of your favorite natural areas to explore using monochromatic images? Please feel free to ask questions or share your experiences in the comments below.
Happy Monday, all!
